Colorado State University’s marriage and family therapy experts have compiled a list of relationship tips for Colorado’s Marriage and Family Therapy week. The first tip is to take care of yourself so that you are able to take care of the ones you love. Beyond keeping yourself healthy, it is also important to do something regularly to nurture yourself so that you are more available to others. Marital expert John Gottman has found in recent studies that it is important to spend a minimum of five hours a week of quality time with our partners, either spread out or all at once.
