A lot of people share a similar experience when it comes to developing good habits such as eating healthy and exercising regularly. The scenario involves being careful to maintain a healthy and productive schedule during the week and then to take breaks from the good habits on the weekend. This can develop because we feel that we owe it to ourselves to take a break from our good habits because we did so well in keeping them throughout the week. Our bad habits become a reward for successfully following the good habits, which then become a chore. This behavior devalues our good habits.
