Medication Library | Psychiatric Medications
Above you will find Psych Central’s medication library. Within this section, you will find general information about some of the most commonly-prescribed medications for mental disorders. This information includes routine use of the medication, common side-effects, and the interactions the medication may have with other medications or over-the-counter drugs.
Symptoms and Treatments of Mental Disorders
The symptom lists at the above link have been culled and summarized from current diagnostic criteria most commonly used in the United States by mental health professionals. The lists are divided into three broad categories: adult, childhood, and personality disorders; some disorders may fall under more than one category. These categories are just an easy way to find a disorder, the categories themselves do not mean anything.
Remember, the lists of symptoms are not necessarily complete. Many times, differential diagnoses were left out of these lists, to keep things simple. Some of the categories listed below are not actual diagnoses, but rather parts of a diagnosis (e.g.- the descriptions of “episodes”).
