Many people consider the word “compromise” to describe a situation in which they lost more than they gained, but by definition, it should describe a deal in which at least something is gained. While a compromise might not always involve getting the most out of a deal, a few guidelines can keep the agreements reached positive. The most important thing to take into consideration when agreeing on a compromise is to not sacrifice on an ethical stance. If a compromise feels wrong, it can be because it crosses an ethical line or bends fundamental values.
